Ingleside Residential Care Home Responds Following CQC Inspection
Ingleside Residential Care Home in Weymouth has issued a statement following the publication of a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report, which rated the service as Requires Improvement in the key question of Safe.
The inspection, carried out in December, identified areas where safeguarding systems, governance arrangements, and oversight required strengthening. While the report noted that some residents and relatives felt people were safe and well cared for, inspectors concluded that certain formal systems were not sufficiently robust to consistently ensure protection from avoidable harm.
Since the inspection, a programme of improvement has been underway. This includes strengthening governance structures, reviewing staffing oversight, enhancing training provision, and improving internal monitoring and documentation processes.
Statement from Christopher Webb, Proprietor
“Resident safety and wellbeing are our highest priorities. The findings of the CQC inspection have been taken seriously, and we have been working proactively to address the issues identified.
Since December, improvements have been implemented across governance, safeguarding oversight, staff training, and internal processes. These actions are designed to ensure that systems are robust, transparent, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
While the inspection highlighted areas requiring improvement, it is important to note that the concerns raised primarily relate to systems and oversight rather than the day-to-day care provided by staff. Our team continues to work hard to support residents with dignity, respect, and compassion.
The care sector faces ongoing challenges, including workforce pressures and increasing regulatory demands, and we remain committed to supporting our staff through these pressures while maintaining high standards of care.
We recognise that inspections can raise understandable concerns for residents, families, and the wider community. We welcome scrutiny, remain open to feedback, and are committed to continuous improvement.”
Looking Ahead
CQC inspections are intended to identify areas for development and drive improved outcomes for people using care services. Ingleside’s management team has confirmed that work is ongoing to address the findings of the inspection, with the aim of strengthening safeguarding arrangements and ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards.
Ingleside Residential Care Home has served the local community for many years and remains committed to providing a safe, caring, and supportive environment for residents. Management will continue to engage constructively with the CQC and other stakeholders as improvements progress, with the goal of ensuring that future inspections fully reflect the quality of care provided.
