A prolific burglar who targeted homes over three consecutive days has been jailed

The offences took place between Thursday 17 July and Saturday 19 July 2025 at addresses in Bournemouth.

During one incident in Strouden Avenue, offenders broke into a property while the occupants were upstairs asleep. A wallet, car keys, jewellery and other items were stolen. The stolen car keys were then used to take the victim’s vehicle.

CCTV enquiries later showed a man using a stolen bank card to make a transaction. He was carrying a distinctive shoulder bag that had also been taken during the burglary.

A second address in Cavendish Road was also targeted during the same period. Entry was gained while the victims were asleep upstairs and a number of items were stolen, including laptops, wallets and keys.

In a third incident in the Wimborne Road area, an attempt was made to gain entry to a property. However, the offender was disturbed by the occupant and left the scene empty-handed.

Detectives reviewed CCTV footage from all three incidents and identified the offender as 44-year-old Graham William Hill, of Bournemouth.

Hill pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary and one count of fraud by false representation.

He was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Wednesday 25 February 2026 to six years and five months in prison.

Detective Constable Jo Regan, of the Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “Graham Hill is a prolific burglar who repeatedly targeted victims in a short space of time with no regard for his actions.

“Everyone deserves to feel safe within their own home and it is unacceptable that Hill entered the homes of people in our communities while they were sleeping.

“We have dedicated officers who will do all they can to investigate burglaries and ensure that offenders are brought before the courts to face justice.”
