A 75-year-old man has appeared in court charged with a series of alleged sexual offences against children.

Tom Grubb, of Weymouth, appeared before Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on February 25.

The court heard he faces six charges under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. They include assault of a girl under 13 by penetration, assault of a girl under 13 by touching, and engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity as a person aged 18 or over with a girl aged 13 to 15. He is also charged with engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl under 13.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between 2019 and 2021 while he was babysitting.

No plea was indicated.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction and the case was sent to Winchester Crown Court, where Grubb is due to appear on March 31, 2026.

He was granted conditional bail. Conditions include not contacting the two alleged victims.

The charges are allegations and the defendant has not yet entered a plea.
