Appeal for Witnesses After Dangerous Driving Incident in Swanage
Police are appealing for witnesses following a reported dangerous driving incident in Swanage.
Officers from Dorset Police are investigating reports that a silver BMW was driven dangerously along the High Street and surrounding areas of the town between 10.15pm and 11pm on Friday, 30 January 2026.
The vehicle is alleged to have collided with pedestrians near Smoke on the Water, a bar and restaurant in the area. While no injuries were reported, it is further alleged that the driver produced a knife and made threats following the incident.
Police Constable Tom Rennie, of Purbeck police, said officers believe a large number of people were in the vicinity at the time.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area and saw what happened or has relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch,” he said.
“We believe there was a large number of people in the area at the time and would like to hear from you if you have any information.”
