Residents across Weymouth are being reminded that there is still time to take part in the Weymouth Town Council Community Survey

Residents across Weymouth are being reminded that there is still time to take part in the Weymouth Town Council Community Survey, with the deadline for responses set for Sunday 1 March.

The Town Council is encouraging as many people as possible to share their views on a wide range of local services and facilities. Topics covered in the survey include popular events such as Armed Forces Weekend, as well as the town’s parks and gardens, the beach and promenade, public toilets and play areas.

Residents are also being asked for feedback on customer services, whether they know who their local councillor is and how to contact them, and how they prefer to receive updates about the Council’s work. Questions about the support provided to the local community also form part of the survey.

The Council has clarified that the survey does not cover services delivered by Dorset Council. Areas such as housing, highways, planning, waste and bin collections, schools, social care, libraries, benefits, car parks and parking fall under Dorset Council’s responsibility and are therefore outside the scope of this consultation.

As an incentive to take part, respondents can choose to be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 high street shopping voucher once they have completed the survey.

Councillor David Harris, Leader of Weymouth Town Council, said the survey represents an important opportunity for the authority to better understand residents’ priorities.

“This is a great opportunity for Weymouth Town Council to gain insights on its services, and what is important to residents in different communities,” he said.

“It’s vital that we hear from as many voices as possible throughout Weymouth, so that we can continue to build on the strengths of our community-focused town.

“If you can’t access the Community Survey online, there are other ways to complete it. You can request a paper version at The New Town Hall on Commercial Road, or find copies available at libraries including Weymouth Central, Littlemoor and Wyke Regis.

“Once the deadline for completing the survey has passed, the prize draw to win the £100 shopping voucher will take place, so please make sure you have your say.”

Paper copies of the survey are available from The New Town Hall on Commercial Road and at local libraries across the town. Residents are encouraged to respond before the 1 March deadline to ensure their views are included.
