New Attraction Lights Up Weymouth Town Centre
A long-empty unit in the heart of Weymouth has been brought back to life with the opening of a vibrant new indoor attraction.
Our field reporter Jake Brewer recently visited Glowballs, located on St Thomas Street at the former Iceland site, which had stood vacant since 2021. The new venue is aiming to breathe fresh energy into the town centre, offering a unique experience for both residents and visitors.
Jake was given a guided tour by manager Jake, who explained that the attraction features two glow-in-the-dark miniature golf courses, each carefully designed to showcase iconic Weymouth landmarks. The attention to detail is clear throughout, with creative lighting and immersive designs transforming the space into a futuristic and visually striking environment.
The two courses, named Dinotopia and Zoozilla, offer distinct themes packed with colour, character, and intricate features. Visitors can expect a playful yet polished experience, with every element thoughtfully crafted to create a memorable outing.

In addition to the golf courses, the venue also includes a ball pool, adding another layer of fun and appeal, particularly for families and younger visitors.
Manager Jake highlighted that the project was driven by a desire to provide something new for the community. With the loss of several indoor attractions in recent years, including the town’s bowling alley and cinema, Glowballs has been designed to fill that gap and give people a reason to return to the town centre.
The opening marks a positive step in revitalising a prominent location that had remained unused for several years, bringing both activity and optimism back to a key part of Weymouth.
