Police have released a new image of a missing 59-year-old man as efforts to locate him continue.
Gary, who has not been seen since the afternoon of Thursday 23 April 2026, was last spotted at approximately 1.30pm in the area of Park Estate Road. Officers believe he may have left the location on a bicycle, prompting ongoing searches across the surrounding area.
According to Dorset Police, Gary is described as around five feet ten inches tall, of stocky build, with short grey hair and distinctive tattoos on his arms. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a black vest, black shorts, black Skechers boots, a cycling helmet, and a chain around his neck.
Search efforts remain active, with officers urging members of the public to assist. Chief Inspector Barry Gosling confirmed that enquiries are ongoing and stressed the importance of community support in the investigation.
“Our enquiries to locate Gary remain ongoing and I would ask anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to please make contact with us,” he said. “We would ask Portland residents to check any CCTV or doorbell cameras for anyone matching Gary’s description in the area around the time he was last seen.”
In a direct appeal, he added: “Gary, if you see this please make contact with us and let us know where you are as we just want to make sure you are OK.”
Police are particularly interested in reviewing any footage or sightings from the Park Estate Road area during the relevant time frame. Anyone who may have information about Gary’s whereabouts is urged to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 999, quoting occurrence number 55260058364.
