Dorchester Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Seizure and Court Summons

A woman from Devon is due to appear in court following a late-night police stop in Dorchester that resulted in the seizure of suspected drugs.

Officers on patrol stopped a vehicle on Kings Road in Dorchester last night after carrying out routine policing activity in the area.

Police subsequently searched the vehicle and its two female occupants under powers granted by the Misuse of Drugs Act. During the search, officers reportedly discovered and seized a substantial quantity of cannabis along with a quantity of white powder believed to be a controlled substance.

A 34-year-old woman from Devon has now been reported for drug offences and is expected to appear before the courts at a later date.

No further details about the second occupant or the exact nature of the substances recovered have currently been released.

The incident has been logged under reference number 55260071056.

Police continue to urge members of the public to report suspected drug activity and anti-social behaviour in their communities as part of ongoing efforts to tackle organised crime and drug-related harm across Dorset.
