Dorset Police are investigating an assault in Weymouth after a 19-year-old man was reportedly stabbed on Thursday evening.
Officers were called at 9.16pm on 16 April 2026 to reports of an incident near the junction of Dorchester Road and Melcombe Avenue. It was reported that the victim had sustained a suspected stab wound during the assault.
Emergency services attended the scene and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
Detectives from Dorset County CID have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. A cordon has been put in place to allow forensic examinations of the area to be carried out.
At this time, no arrests have been made.
Dorset Police have confirmed that there will be an increased presence of officers in the area while enquiries continue. Members of the public are encouraged to approach officers with any information or concerns relating to the incident.
