Video of Weymouth stabbing reportedly circulating on social media
Footage believed to show the aftermath of a stabbing in Weymouth has reportedly begun circulating on social media, following an incident we previously reported on.
The incident, which is currently under investigation by Dorset Police, took place on Thursday evening (16 April 2026) near the junction of Dorchester Road and Melcombe Avenue. Emergency services were called at approximately 9.16pm after reports that a 19-year-old man had been assaulted.
The victim was located by officers with what has been described as a suspected stab wound and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
Since the incident, unverified footage has begun to emerge online, with clips reportedly showing scenes from shortly after the attack. It is currently unclear who recorded the video or how widely it has been shared.
At this stage, Dorset Police have not commented on the circulation of the footage. Investigations into the assault remain ongoing, and officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
As with all incidents of this nature, members of the public are urged to avoid sharing potentially distressing content online and instead provide any relevant material directly to police.
