Weymouth Woman to Appear in Court Following Fatal Dorchester Collision

A 54-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in court later this month in connection with a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Dorchester last year.

​The legal proceedings follow a comprehensive investigation by Dorset Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team into an incident involving a vehicle and a cyclist on Bridport Road.

​Incident Summary

​The collision took place at approximately 7:35 am on Friday, May 16, 2025. Emergency services were called to the scene following reports of a collision between a white Fiat Panda and a bicycle.

​The cyclist, identified as 50-year-old Justin Loveland, sustained critical injuries and was emergency-transported to Southampton Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Mr. Loveland tragically passed away on the evening of Saturday, May 17, 2025.

​Legal Proceedings

​Following extensive enquiries, a postal requisition has been issued to a woman from Weymouth.
